Rome, June 16 (LaPresse) – The preseason for the new Roma team under Gian Piero Gasperini is taking shape. The squad will gather at the Trigoria training center on Sunday, July 13, where it will carry out the first part of the summer preparation. After officially announcing the first friendly match against Kaiserslautern on Saturday, July 26, the second friendly will take place on August 2 against the French side Lens at the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium (kick-off at 6:00 PM). This match will be for the first edition of the Trophée 1906 to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the French club, which will also officially launch their new season in front of their fans.
After the match, Gasperini’s team will travel to England for a training camp from August 2 to 8 at St George’s Park in Burton Upon Trent. During this training period, a friendly against Aston Villa is scheduled for August 6 at The Bescot Stadium in Walsall at 8:30 PM (7:30 PM local time).
After completing the six-day training session at the English national technical center, another friendly is planned on August 9 at Everton’s new home – the Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool – at 4:00 PM Italian time (3:00 PM local time). This will be a kind of ‘derby’ between two clubs owned by the Friedkin family.
