Football, World Cup qualifiers: Italy-Moldova 2–0

Rome, June 9 (LaPresse) – Italy defeated Moldova 2–0 in the match valid for the fourth round of Group I in the World Cup qualifiers. Goals by Raspadori in the 40th minute and Cambiaso in the 50th marked Luciano Spalletti’s final game as head coach of the Azzurri. No goal fest to close the goal difference gap with Norway, but a narrow win that allows Italy to get off the mark in the group and earn their first three points following the loss to the Norwegians, who remain top of the group with a perfect record of 12 points from 4 matches. Moldova had a goal disallowed for offside in the 17th minute. Donnarumma made a crucial save, and Dimarco cleared a shot off the line near the end of the first half.
