Turin, 9 June (LaPresse) – Jonathan Milan scored a double success at the Critérium du Dauphiné. The Italian sprinter won the second stage, a 204 km route from Premilhat to Issoire, in a sprint finish ahead of Fred Wright (Bahrain-Victorious) and Mathieu Van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck). Thanks to the 10-second time bonus, the Lidl-Trek rider also took the overall leader's jersey from Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates). Milan now leads the general classification, tied on time with the Slovenian star but ahead due to better stage placements. Van der Poel is third, 2 seconds behind. Tomorrow's third stage, from Brioude to Charantonnay (207 km), features a rolling profile and is suited to a long-range breakaway or a reduced bunch sprint.
