Rome, June 7 (LaPresse) – Marc Marquez doesn’t miss a beat and continues to dominate. The championship leader took pole position for the Aragon GP, the eighth round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship. On the MotorLand track in Alcañiz, the rider from Cervera set a new lap record, improving on the 1:45.801 that he already held himself, confirming how comfortable he feels on this home circuit.
For the Spanish Ducati factory rider, it is the 61st pole position in the premier class and his 99th overall in the World Championship. Marquez clocked a time of 1:45.704, 260 thousandths ahead of his brother Alex Marquez (Ducati Gresini). Completing the front row is Franco Morbidelli (Ducati Pertamina VR46), just 20 thousandths behind second place.
The Roman rider, returning to the front row for the first time since Misano 2024, finished ahead of the factory Ducati of Francesco Bagnaia, who was 603 thousandths off the lead.
Fifth fastest was Pedro Acosta, followed by South African Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM), rookie Fermin Aldeguer, Maverick Viñales, Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Pertamina VR46).
