Los Angeles (California, USA), June 1st (LaPresse) – Los Angeles FC is the last team to qualify for the Club World Cup, scheduled for this summer in the United States, after winning in extra time against Club America in a playoff to replace Leon, a Mexican club disqualified by FIFA for violations related to ownership rules (both clubs are owned by the same group as Pachuca). Brian Rodriguez put Club America ahead in the second half, scoring a penalty against his former team, but at the 44th minute, Igor Jesus equalized with a header, extending the match to extra time, where Denis Bouanga scored the decisive goal in the 10th minute of the second half with a deflected shot. Los Angeles FC will be placed in Group D with Chelsea, Flamengo, and Esperance Tunis.
