Turin, May 25 (LaPresse) – Juventus beat Venezia 3-2 in the match valid for the 38th and final round of Serie A, securing qualification for the next edition of the Champions League by finishing fourth. The decisive goal came from a penalty converted by Locatelli in the 73rd minute. Roma won 2-0 away at Torino (a penalty from Paredes and a header from Saelemaekers) and finished fifth, while Lazio collapsed at home against Lecce, who scored with Coulibaly just before halftime. This result cleared the way for Fiorentina, who came from behind to defeat Udinese 3-2, with Kean scoring the goal that clinched European qualification in the 82nd minute. Lazio miss out on European competition. Empoli and Venezia are relegated, while Lecce stay up. These are the final verdicts from the Serie A relegation battle. The highlight of the evening came from Lecce, who pulled off a shock win at the Stadio Olimpico by defeating Lazio thanks to a close-range finish from Coulibaly, assisted by Kristovic, in the 44th minute of the first half. Empoli fell 2-1 away to Hellas Verona, while Venezia matched Juventus for much of the game but ultimately lost 3-2 due to Locatelli’s second-half penalty. Parma also celebrated, completing a comeback to beat Atalanta 3-2 at the Gewiss Stadium.
