Rome, May 19 (LaPresse) – For fourth place and qualification for the Champions League "I think Juventus has a better chance than us, even if it won't be easy against Venezia". This is what Claudio Ranieri, Roma coach, said on 'Un giorno da pecora' on Radio1 after the tribute that the Giallorossi Olimpico reserved for him on Sunday evening, his last home bench before his announced retirement. "I'm pleased to be appreciated for my normality – he explains – you can see that both the coach and the man are liked". The affection of his fans, however, will not make him change his mind: "Me like Mattarella who accepted a second mandate? I also did the third – he joked – now I will have to think about doing the best for Roma in another way, important and difficult. I am convinced of my choices, it is right that Roma goes forward and I step aside. A new mandate must begin". Also on the show was the general secretary of the Cgil, Maurizio Landini, a well-known Milan fan who, given Milan's season, asked him to "keep an eye" on the Rossoneri. "I gave it to them – Ranieri replied – I told the players that for me Milan has the strongest players in the league, even if they don't always play as a team. But when they do it's painful". He didn't go out on a limb about the fight for the Scudetto between Napoli and Inter: "I've coached both teams, so may the best team win". Finally, no details about his successor as coach of Roma: "I can only say that he's younger than me".
