Vatican City (Vatican), 14 May (LaPresse) Jannik Sinner was received at the Vatican by Pope Leo XIV. Accompanying the tennis player, who was accompanied by his parents, was a delegation from the FITP, the Italian tennis and padel federation, led by its president Angelo Binaghi. The world number one presented Prevost with a racket. During the meeting, the Pontiff asked Jannik Sinner about his feelings regarding the Italian Open. ‘It was difficult at the start of the tournament, but now we're in the game,’ said the Italian champion, who joked with the Holy Father: ‘Shall we play a bit?’ he asked, handing him a racket and ball. The Pope showed him the room with lamps and other furniture and replied with a laugh: ‘Let's leave it, better not here.’
