Milan, April 27 (LaPresse) – Jasmine Paolini's journey at the "Mutua Madrid Open," a WTA 1000 event with a prize pool of 7,854,000 euros, ended in the third round. The tournament is being held on the clay courts of the Caja Magica in Madrid, Spain (combined with an ATP 1000 Masters event). The 26-year-old from Bagni di Lucca, ranked No. 6 in the WTA and seeded sixth, who had reached the semifinals in Stuttgart (where she was stopped by Sabalenka), was decisively beaten by Greek Maria Sakkari, currently ranked No. 82 in the WTA but a former world No. 3. Sakkari won in a dominant 6-2, 6-1 scoreline.
