Swimming: Ceccon wins the 100 freestyle in 48"41 at the Australian championships

Turin, Apr. 24 (LaPresse) – After the Italian record of 1'55‘71 in the 200 backstroke and the personal best improved in the 100 butterfly to 51’26, Thomas Ceccon also won the 100 freestyle in 48"41 at the Australian open championships in Brisbane. The 24-year-old star from Schio – among other things Olympic, world and European champion in the 100 backstroke in which he holds the world record in 51‘60 – had already swum the 100 backstroke in 52’84 at the National Preparation Meet where he also covered the 100 freestyle in 48"18. For him already three individual passes (100 and 200 backstroke and 100 butterfly) and for the fast relay at the world championships in Singapore next July. Ceccon (Fiamme Oro / Leosport), followed at the federal centre in Verona by Alberto Burlina, has been training at the St. Peters Western Swim Club in Brisbane with Australian coach Dean Boxall since 10 January.
