Turin, 22 April (LaPresse) – ‘I'm not better than Marc in 2019, I'm different. That was my best season, I have a different mindset and experience, which makes me see things differently. Sometimes you make accidental mistakes, like in Austin. It was a good wake-up call for me.’ Marc Marquez said this while speaking at an event with Estrella Galicia, one of his sponsors, ahead of this weekend's Jerez Grand Prix. ‘I don't dare say it out loud, but I'm much calmer,’ added the Ducati rider. ‘In 2019, winning was the only thing that mattered, or at least that's how I felt, which is why there was so much pressure. Now there's the same pressure, but I don't feel obliged to win. I don't feel I owe myself anything, I'm where I wanted to be.’ Looking ahead to Sunday's Grand Prix, ‘I can't wait to get to Jerez, where I got my first podium (with Ducati, ed.) last year. I can't wait to continue on this path. That doesn't mean winning,’ he concluded, ‘but being in the top three, which is the goal for this weekend.’
