Rome, Apr. 19 (LaPresse) – President Fabrizio Corsi, vice-president and managing director Rebecca Corsi, the directors and Empoli Football Club express their condolences for the passing of Giulio Drago, first blue goalkeeper and then goalkeeper coach in the youth sector. ‘He was the protagonist of beautiful years, of an unforgettable page of history for our club – the blue president Fabrizio Corsi remembers him on Empoli's website – he was the goalkeeper of the first Empoli that conquered the Serie A and then salvation. Once his career as a footballer was over, he collaborated with our club for many years as goalkeeper coach in the youth sector, offering his competence and knowledge with great attention to the technical and human growth of the youngsters. A character who undoubtedly wrote the history of our club, whom we greet today with affection and emotion for what he did for our colours. Born in Caltagirone on 25 June 1962, he grew up in the Juventus youth sector, then made his professional debut with the Cremonese shirt, before defending the posts of Bari and Triestina. He arrived at Empoli in the summer of 1984, in Serie B, making his debut against Bari in November.
