Milan, April 12 (LaPresse) – "The Club World Cup represents a historic turning point in international football: for the first time, the competition will feature 32 teams from 5 continents. Being one of the only two teams representing Italy is a tremendous source of pride for us, the result of the work of the last five years: we’ve earned this spot." This was stated by Beppe Marotta, President and CEO of Inter Milan, the club that this weekend had the honor of hosting a stop of the Trophy Tour. After Paris, Milan welcomed the Club World Cup trophy, which will be awarded to the team that will take the crown of the world on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. After the exhibition at Piazza Duomo, the top management met with the media at San Siro.
"The Club World Cup will be a unique experience, in the middle of two different seasons, in a new format that will allow us to compete against the best teams in the world. Inter is a great club, and its history speaks for itself: we participate in every competition with the utmost concentration, and our goal is to perform well and aim to win to raise the name of Inter even higher at the European and global level. For us, it is both a pride and a responsibility that the prestige of Inter is recognized in such a prestigious competition," Marotta added.
