Rome, Apr. 4 (LaPresse) – The operation to which Federica Brignone underwent at the clinic La Madonnina in Milan following the fall during the second run of the women's giant slalom at the Ski Area Lusia in Val di Fassa (Tn), valid for the Italian Championships, was concluded on Thursday evening. This was announced by Fisi. The operation, which was perfectly successful, was performed by the President of the Fisi Medical Commission Andrea Panzeri in collaboration with Dr. Riccardo Accetta (Head of the Traumatology Operative Unit of the IRCCS Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio Hospital), Gabriele Thiebat (FISI Medical Commission) and Alberto Zangrillo (Head of the Operative Unit of Anaesthesia and General Reanimation of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan), and it was necessary to reduce and synthesise the multi-fragmentary compound fracture of the tibial plateau and the head of the fibula of the left leg, as well as the ligament repair of the medial compartment of the knee. A ruptured anterior cruciate ligament was also noted, which will be evaluated in the coming weeks. The super-giant slalom world champion in Saalbach 2025 and fresh World Cup winner will start her rehabilitation in the coming days.
