Rome, 29 Mar (LaPresse) – Flora Tabanelli triumphs in the Big Air final at the World Championships in St. Moritz and closes in the best way a season that has seen her dominate the scene of the specialty after the victory of the overall Freeski World Cup and specialty. It was a dream winter for the seventeen-year-old from Emilia, who tackled her first world championship with the maturity of a veteran: 87.75 in the first run, 89.00 in the third, interspersed with a mistake in the second. The Italian racer's total score was 176.75, unreachable by all her rivals, with hostess Sarah Höfflin second with 170.75 despite her 90.50 in the opening run and Finland's Anni Kavara third with 167.50. The two Canadians Olivia Asselin (167.00) and Megan Oldham (162.00) were left off the podium. The night in St. Moritz was all about Flora Tabanelli, who crowned a triumphant winter that saw her on the podium in all the Big Air competitions held, with two victories (plus one in SlopeStyle) in the top circuit and also putting her stamp on the prestigious X-Games in Aspen. ‘I am really happy with my season – were her first words – I always tried to do my best and I am really satisfied with these results. I think it's the best way to end this crazy season, I'm really speechless. ‘After the double World Youth Big Air title won in 2023 and 2024 and the Youth Olympic title in both specialities in 2024, Flora enters the medal table of the major event through the main door. Flora Tabanelli's gold represents the first ever rainbow medal for Italy in Big Air and comes just a few days after the partial disappointment for the fourth place conquered by the Emilian in the rainbow SlopeStyle. Flora proved once again that she has a much stronger mental strength than her young age might suggest: this is also why, today, Flora is on top of the World.
