Rome, March 26 (LaPresse) – Tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, at 14:00 in Riga (live on the FIBA YouTube channel), the EuroBasket 2025 group draw ceremony will take place. The European Championship will be held from August 27 to September 14, 2025, in Riga, Latvia (one group and the final stages), Katowice, Poland (one group), Tampere, Finland (one group), and Limassol, Cyprus (one group). The draw will determine four groups of six teams each, from which the top four teams of each group will advance to the knockout stage. FIBA has divided the 24 teams qualified for EuroBasket 2025 into six seeding pots based on the latest European ranking update: Italy is in the third pot alongside Montenegro, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The host countries (Latvia, Finland, Cyprus, and Poland) and their partners (Estonia, Lithuania, Greece, and Iceland) will be placed in two separate pots. The draw will then proceed by distributing the remaining teams based on the seeding order from number 6 to number 1. Each team will then be assigned a number from 1 to 6 to create the match schedule.
