Turin, 6 Mar (LaPresse) – Fiorentina lost 3-2 in Athens against Panathinaikos in the first leg of the Conference League round of 16. A pyrotechnic first half with four goals in 25 minutes. The Greeks took the lead in the 5th minute with a shot from the limit by Swiderski, and in the 19th minute Maksimovic doubled the score after a mistake by Terracciano. The Viola reacted immediately, finding 2-1 with Beltran's header in the 20th minute and then levelling the score in the 23rd minute with a shot by Fagioli ‘dirtied’ by an opponent. Before half-time, Moreno's goal was cancelled out for offside. In the second half, on 8 minutes, the hosts took the lead again with a low shot by Tete, who sealed the final 3-2 goal. The return match at the ‘Franchi’ is scheduled in a week's time.
