Milan, 13 Feb (LaPresse) – The Barcelona circuit will host MotoGP until 2031. The Spanish track, which in 2024 won the award as the best Grand Prix of the year for the organisation of the last round of the championship (the Solidarity GP), welcomed the MotoGP for the first time in 1992. Thirty-four rounds in total have been held so far at the Catalan track, where the public has always attended in large numbers, just a few kilometres from the centre of a city steeped in history and charm. Thanks to a contract extension, the relationship will go ahead consolidating the path already set. ‘We are happy to sign this new agreement with the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya,’ explains Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, owner of the MotoGP rights. ‘There, fans have always witnessed high-level weekends, with impressive attendance figures. The circuit,' he recalls, ’is well connected to Barcelona, one of the most culturally important cities in the world. It is a winning combination. We are thrilled to continue racing here'.
