Milan, Jan. 30 (LaPresse) – The IOC has designated Dolomiti Valtellina in the Italian Alps as the venue for the 2028 Winter Youth Olympic Games. The Italian Alps are ready to host the next Winter Youth Olympic Games (Yog) in 2028. This decision was taken today by the IOC members during the 143rd session in Lausanne, following a presentation by those responsible for the project. Dolomiti Valtellina 2028 will be the fifth edition of the Winter Yog. The competitions will take place only in existing venues in three clusters in Valtellina, Trentino and Cortina, returning to some of the iconic sports venues that will be used for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The Yog 2028 will be part of the legacy of Milano Cortina 2026 and will reinvest in communities with strong traditions in winter sports.
