Turin, Jan. 27 (LaPresse) – A letter from Formula 1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali questioning the future of the circus in Italy should Aci president Angelo Sticchi Damiani, elected last October for his fourth term, change. This is the scenario, according to LaPresse, which arises a few months after the official renewal of the Monza GP until 2031 and which also involves the Imola circuit and the World Rally Championship stage in Sardinia. It all stems from the recent emergency decree, pending approval, which provides for the introduction of term limits for public bodies in the nature of sports federations, including the Automobile Club d'Italia. The maximum limit of three mandates set, with retroactive value of the measure, would put out of action – despite his recent re-election – the current number one of ACI, the man with whom Domenicali negotiated and reached an agreement in recent months. A relationship consolidated over the years that has favoured the extension of the agreement with Monza, which also includes a series of works to modernise the track. On the part of Formula 1 there is maximum attention on the developments of this affair, which risks making Italy disappear from the Formula 1 map.
