Madrid (Spain), Jan. 27 (LaPresse/AP) – Spain’s European Championship-winning coach Luis de la Fuente has extended his contract until 2028, the year of the Euros in England.
The Spanish Football Federation announced the renewal in a statement, saying it had "renewed its trust" in the 63-year-old coach. De La Fuente began his journey with La Roja in 2013, working with youth teams before replacing Luis Enrique in 2022, following the World Cup in Qatar.
De La Fuente is the first coach of Spain to win the European Championship in three different categories: Under-19, Under-21, and the senior national team.
