Milan, Jan 17 (LaPresse) – The Swiss men's alpine skiing team won the World Cup super-G in Wengen. However, it was Franjo von Allmen who surprisingly took his first career victory, while team star Marco Odermatt had a rare negative result. Odermatt finished outside the top five in super-G for the first time since March 2022 and was one second behind in seventh place. The 23-year-old Von Allmen with a time of 1'47"65 was +0.10 seconds ahead of Austrian veteran Vincent Kriechmayr. Swiss team-mate Stefan Rogentin came third at +0.58 hundredths. Von Allmen and Odermatt will now also be the big favourites in Saturday's classic downhill. As for the Italians, an excellent fifth place for a rediscovered Dominik Paris at +0.63. Behind him the other Italian Mattia Casse, sixth at +0.92.
