Milan, January 5 (LaPresse) – Luca Nardi has qualified for the main draw of the ASB Classic, the ATP 250 tournament in Auckland on hard courts (prize money: $680,140), joining Flavio Cobolli, Luciano Darderi, and Lorenzo Sonego. The Pesaro native (world No. 92), playing his first tournament since winning the title in Rovereto—his sixth career Challenger title—defeated Argentina’s Facundo Diaz Acosta (world No. 79) 7-5, 6-7(2), 6-2 in the final qualifying round. Diaz Acosta, 24, had previously beaten Nardi in the round of 16 at the ITF M15 in Torello in 2020. During the match, Nardi lost only six points on his first serve. In the first round, he will face none other than Cobolli, ranked world No. 32.
