Rome, Apr 14 (LaPresse) – "Did it really take this long? The Prime Minister announces the suspension of the automatic renewal of the defence agreement with Israel. We have been asking for this for a long time together with other progressive forces, because the dignity of this country is also measured by respect for international law. Now consistency is needed: Italy must stop obstructing the suspension of the EU-Israel association agreement, for which consensus among member states is growing. Concrete actions are needed to stop indiscriminate bombings, illegal occupation and the dismantling of the rule of law." This was stated by Democratic Party leader Elly Schlein.
