Milan, 26 March (LaPresse) – ‘These resignations were offered out of a sense of responsibility, to prevent personal matters – which had nothing to do with their work in government, which has been beyond reproach – from damaging the executive and, by extension, the nation.’ This was stated by Lucio Malan, leader of the Fratelli d'Italia group in the Senate, when interviewed by the “Corriere della Sera” regarding the resignations of Daniela Santanchè, Andrea Delmastro and Giusi Bartolozzi. “Delmastro had no pending legal proceedings,” whilst Santanchè “was right to say that her criminal record is spotless and that she feels confident of her innocence regarding the investigations, and she has been an excellent minister,” Malan pointed out.
