Milan, 26 March (LaPresse) – “The primaries are not a priority” and it is “more likely that we will win by presenting a united front around a political proposal; so, for the time being, I would tentatively put forward a suggestion: that a meeting of the opposition forces be convened as soon as possible to chart a course of action”. So said Nicola Fratoianni, secretary of Sinistra Italiana, in an interview with “Repubblica”. ‘The law does not require’ us to have a prime ministerial candidate, ‘we are not yet in a prime ministerial system’, adds Fratoianni, who believes that ‘as a progressive front, there is, to begin with, “a fundamental programme, that set out in the Constitution”; as for the rest, we will find a shared formula’.
