Rome, 25 March (LaPresse) – “It took three years and 15 million citizens voting ‘No’ in the referendum to force the resignation of a minister responsible for a Covid scam at the state’s expense. Who is responsible for all this? There is only one name: Giorgia Meloni, a prime minister who is now weak, very weak indeed.” This was stated by the leader of the M5S, Giuseppe Conte, speaking to reporters outside the Chamber of Deputies. “The government is reeling today; it is teetering. It is not addressing the urgent needs of citizens, businesses and families at all,” emphasised the former prime minister following the resignation of the Minister for Tourism, Daniele Santanchè. Prime Minister Meloni, he added, “has led us to this situation, whereas these decisions and measures should have been taken in good time, so that we could then dedicate ourselves to and effectively address the needs of citizens – something that has not been done,” he concluded.
