Iran, Crosetto: ‘No entry into the Strait of Hormuz without a ceasefire’

Rome, 19 March (LaPresse) – ‘I have read completely inaccurate interpretations of the document approved today by a number of European and non-European nations, including Italy. There is no military mission. There will be no entry into the Strait of Hormuz without a ceasefire and without a broad multilateral initiative.’ So said Defence Minister Guido Crosetto in a statement. ‘We are aware of the importance for everyone of working towards the safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, and we believe it is right and proper that the United Nations should provide the legal framework for a peaceful, multilateral initiative to achieve this objective.’
