Milan, 8 March (LaPresse) – "I confirm what I said, Italy is not part of the conflict and does not intend to be part of the conflict. We are merely strengthening our presence in the Gulf countries that have been attacked by Iran with missiles and drones, but only for defensive purposes." This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, guest on the programme “Fuori dal Coro” on Rete 4. Preventing ‘speculation from causing prices to skyrocket’ is ‘another of our priorities,’ added the Prime Minister, who explained: "The energy authority has set up a task force. I believe that tomorrow we will already have the first reports to monitor energy prices, especially gas prices. Minister Urso has put into action what we call Mister Prezzi, i.e. the monitoring system that is activated to verify that there are no unjustified price increases, particularly on petrol and foodstuffs,‘ and ’we are determined to combat speculation."
