8 March, Meloni: ‘Women should not have to choose between work and family’

Milan, 8 March (LaPresse) – ‘8 March reminds us all of a responsibility that is not limited to a single day, but applies every day: to continue building an Italy in which no woman has to choose between freedom, work, family and personal fulfilment.’ This was written on Facebook by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. ‘The talent, determination and contribution of women are a decisive force for the growth of the nation. In recent years, we have also worked in this direction. Some results are beginning to show. Among these is the highest level of female employment ever achieved in Italy, a milestone of which I am particularly proud,’ added the Prime Minister. ‘There is still a long way to go, but the goal is clear: to remove obstacles, guarantee equal opportunities and allow every woman to fully express her worth. This, perhaps, is the most authentic meaning of 8 March,’ she concluded.
