Milan, 12 February (LaPresse) – "The post published a few hours ago by the Democratic Party account used the image of a highly successful sporting event, with communicative language, that of memes, which, by their very nature, work because of their simplicity and are used in an ironic context. There was no intention to directly involve the athletes in the referendum campaign, to attribute a political position to them, or to exploit their sporting achievements in any way, of which we, like everyone else, are proud." This is what the Democratic Party wrote in a statement published after withdrawing the video on the ‘no’ vote in the referendum, which used images of Italian curling athletes. ‘As soon as we became aware of the request made by Amos Mosaner and Stefania Costantini, we were sorry that the publication could have caused confusion, and it was immediately withdrawn,’ added the PD.
