Cortina d'Ampezzo, Feb. 12 (LaPresse) – After attending the women’s Super-G race in Cortina, President Sergio Mattarella went down to the finish line where he greeted and congratulated Federica Brignone, fresh off her gold medal. The Head of State embraced the Italian athlete: "Well done, congratulations," he said, describing the race as "incredible" and "unforgettable." "You could say I was counting on it," added the Quirinal resident. "Not that much," Brignone replied with a smile. Mattarella then greeted the audience present, who applauded him.
