Rome, 31 January (LaPresse) – In the coming weeks, ‘the entire PD will be engaged at all territorial levels. You will see us in the streets, in the squares, at the stalls explaining the reasons for voting “no” in the referendum, and we will be engaged in a process of listening’ to the territories. This was stated by Secretary Elly Schlein from Naples, where she is participating in a conference organised by “Energia Popolare”, headed by Stefano Bonaccini. ‘We will ask citizens about their material conditions,’ continued the PD secretary, "and their experience with public healthcare, in a country where you wait a year and a half for a gastroscopy. What are their working conditions, given that President Meloni continues to claim data. She did so again yesterday, but the problem is that she does not look at the data, especially here in the south, where we know that young people are struggling, cannot find work and very often feel compelled to move away. We continue to fight for a minimum wage and against precariousness, because if we want to combat the falling birth rate, the first big thing to do is to combat precariousness, which makes our young people afraid of the future, and this has consequences. We must take this into account and provide concrete support to families, and this listening tour will help us to focus on the concrete needs of citizens in order to build an alternative. We will make several stops, including one here in Naples on 13 and 14 February. We will then continue in Florence the following week, in Milan the week after that, and then we will have a grand finale in Rome on 7 March. So we will be working together on the referendum campaign in this listening campaign, not least because we will not allow the government to forget the needs of citizens for two months'.
