Milan, 9 January (LaPresse) – "Italian magistrates carry out the task set out in the Constitution, which is to apply the law and protect rights. They have done so consistently and in a balanced manner despite heavy attacks from various quarters. The constant delegitimisation of magistrates, their work and the decisions they take solely and exclusively on the basis of the law is dangerous for the very stability of the rule of law. In order for the justice system to function more effectively, it would be desirable for the government to provide answers on the cuts in the budget law, on precarious workers and on the problems of information technology and judicial buildings. We have been asking for answers on these issues for some time in order to guarantee a better service for Italians." This was stated by the Central Executive Committee of the National Magistrates Association in a note.
