Milan, Jan. 2 (LaPresse) – “There is a contradiction between a left that does not want the premiership but believes it can win at the polls. They say that Meloni wants the reform to gain full powers. As if Meloni needed the premiership to govern: she is already governing very well without it. The premiership arises from the desire to do something for the Nation, an act of love for the Italy of the future. Direct democracy will most likely offer greater guarantees of stability than the current system based on parliamentarism.”
This is what Senate President Ignazio La Russa said in an interview with the newspaper il Giornale. Regarding the justice reform on the separation of judicial careers, La Russa added: “In trials, the relationship between prosecution and defense will change in some way, the system of factions within the judiciary will change more, but in any case, nothing will change for the government, just as nothing will change for the opposition: no one is saying that in case of defeat in the referendum Conte and Schlein should resign. All political acts have consequences, but not so drastic.”
