Budget, Ciriani: ‘We couldn't back down on resources for businesses’

Milan, 23 December (LaPresse) – There was never any risk of a crisis during the parliamentary debate on the budget: ‘There was never a moment when it seemed that the situation could get out of hand,’ said Luca Ciriani, Minister for Relations with Parliament, in an interview with Corriere della Sera. "The League was in turmoil, it's true. It was all internal agitation between Minister Giorgetti and the group's MPs. Even though the amendment on pensions, presented by Giorgetti, had been agreed upon politically,‘ he said, pointing out that he ’only took a hard line when I made it clear that we could discuss the coverage but that there would be no backtracking on funds for businesses, i.e. for the ZES and the 5.0 transition. And so it was.‘ ’I don't want to get into the internal dynamics of an allied party,‘ he emphasises with regard to the League, ’but Minister Giorgetti, who represents the entire government, has done his job very well, with great balance. He keeps the accounts in order in a country that had squandered so many resources before us without solving the problems."
