Brussels, 16 December (LaPresse) – The plenary session of the European Parliament has decided to confirm the vote cast by the JURI Legal Affairs Committee calling for the waiver of parliamentary immunity for Alessandra Moretti while rejecting the request for waiver for Elisabetta Gualmini, both members of the Democratic Party (PD) involved in the Qatargate investigation. For Moretti, out of 651 voters, 497 voted to waive immunity, 139 against and 15 abstained. For Gualmini, out of 655 voters, 282 voted in favour of the JURI recommendation not to waive immunity, 254 against and 19 abstained.
