Rome, 9 December (LaPresse) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today at Palazzo Chigi. During the meeting, according to a statement from Palazzo Chigi, the two leaders ‘analysed the progress of the negotiation process and shared the next steps to be taken to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine’. Zelensky, the statement continues, acknowledged Italy's role and thanked it once again for sending emergency supplies to support the Ukrainian energy sector. Meloni then reiterated ‘solidarity with the Ukrainian people’ and assured that ‘Italy will continue to do its part, also with a view to the future reconstruction of Ukraine’.
