Rome, 10 November (LaPresse) – "Unable to tolerate that the Privacy Guarantor has become a hotbed of conflicts of interest, positions, attitudes and solutions prone to the politicians in power, who are in government, we are calling for its abolition. I ask this on behalf of the entire Five Star Movement: the abolition of the Privacy Guarantor, which has lost the necessary strength, credibility and authority." Thus spoke M5S President Giuseppe Conte, in presenting the motion of M5S, PD and AVS concerning initiatives aimed at protecting journalists and freedom of the press to the Chamber of Deputies. “This member of the Privacy Guarantor,” said the former prime minister, referring to Agostino Ghiglia, 'does he work so hard and so zealously for all citizens, or does he work only for the leaders of Fratelli d'Italia? Does he represent the Privacy Guarantor, or does he only represent the guarantor of the Meloni sisters? Bear in mind that guaranteeing institutions cannot become branches of a party, nor of Colle Oppio. And we, as the Five Star Movement, are not turning a blind eye."
