Germany, Meloni: ‘Fall of Berlin Wall heralds dawn of freedom and democracy’

Rome, 9 Nov. (LaPresse) – "9 November 1989, the day the Berlin Wall fell, not only represents the demolition of a wall that had divided Germany in two for years under the grip of communism, profoundly marking Europe and the whole world, but also tells the story of the moment when thousands of people, united and bound by the same desire, ushered in a new dawn and a new day with the reconquest of freedom, hope and democracy.‘ This was written in X by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who emphasised that ’to commemorate all this, the Italian Republic has chosen to dedicate 9 November to “Freedom Day”, established by Law No. 61 of 15 April 2005." . “On 9 November, we remember those who suffered, those who hoped, those who had the courage to believe that the world could change. And together, we renew that same hope and desire for freedom,” concludes the Prime Minister.
