Milan, 3 November (LaPresse) – The comments made by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the partial collapse of the Conti Tower in Largo Corrado Ricci in Rome are ‘sordid and worrying’ because ‘they confirm the abyss of vulgarity into which Moscow's leadership has fallen’. This is what sources at the Foreign Ministry emphasise. ‘No one in Italy, absolutely no one, would ever think of rejoicing or speculating on an accident, a tragedy in which we are all still involved as Italian people,’ they add, pointing out that "Italy has always done and will always do the opposite: we will maintain our civilised manners and our politeness. We did so even in recent months when a shopping centre was attacked in Russia. We will always express solidarity and friendship for the weakest, for those in difficulty, for those under attack. That is why we support the Ukrainian people. Because we are Italians."
