Rome, 23 October (LaPresse) – "Not only have the government and the majority parties failed to withdraw their reckless lawsuits against Ranucci, but, from what we understand, the Data Protection Authority has recently taken political action to impose exemplary sanctions on the episodes of Report that dealt with the origins of the Boccia case and his resignation. We expect a swift denial; otherwise, it would be an act beyond any logic of transparency, a further serious attack on public service. We want to understand the situation better and, with regard to Ranucci's allegations, we are waiting to obtain information before considering whether to access the documents relating to this proceeding. At the same time, it will be important to verify how RAI intends to protect a public service programme so that it can continue to carry out its work of providing free and independent information'. This is according to a statement from the PD members of the RAI Supervisory Commission.
