Turin, Oct. 2 (LaPresse) – The activists from the Flotilla detained by Israeli forces “will all have to wait 2–3 days because of Yom Kippur, which is the most important Jewish holiday. Until tomorrow evening, nothing will be processed. No procedures will be handled, so they will wait in a center, probably in the port of Ashdod,” said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on the TV show Porta a Porta.
“Starting the day after tomorrow, the expulsion procedures will begin, probably in two separate phases. Those who acknowledge violating the embargo may have to wait longer, but eventually, all of them will likely be sent back to Europe on one or two planes. That's what is currently being said,” he explained.
“In any case, our consular service will assist all Italian citizens. I have already instructed the embassy in Tel Aviv, as well as the consulates in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, to make themselves available to provide all necessary assistance to our fellow citizens,” he added.
