Fitch, Meloni: ‘The government is on the right track, no slogans but results’

Rome, 20 September (LaPresse) – ‘Italy gets a promotion from Fitch: confirmation that our government is on the right track. Balanced accounts, responsible budgetary choices, a strengthening economy thanks to rising employment: these are not slogans, but concrete results’. This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after the agency raised Italy's long-term rating from ‘BBB’ to ‘BBB+’. Italy's upgrade by Fitch ‘is a clear sign of confidence from international markets: political stability, credible economic policies and support for those who create jobs and wealth are bearing fruit,’ the prime minister emphasised, concluding: ‘We are aware of the challenges that lie ahead — growth, debt, sustainability — but today we can look ahead with pride: our commitment is being recognised, and this gives us further strength to do more and more for Italy and its families.’
