Separation of careers, M5S: ‘It's revenge by the centre-right, nothing for citizens' problems’

Milan, 18 September. (LaPresse) – "The bill that overturns the judicial system in the Constitution is not and should not be called justice reform. To be so, it should contain at least some attempt to overcome the problems of justice, those that Italian citizens deal with every day: delays, inefficiencies, poor service, lack of certainty of punishment, judgements that are suspended for too long. There is no shortage of problems, and they certainly also affect the judiciary. But the law that the Meloni government wants to impose with arrogance has nothing to do with any of this. It is the final reckoning of a political party that has been waging war on judges for decades, the revenge of a government that, from day one, has publicly displayed annoyance and even intolerance towards anyone who acts as a democratic and legal counterweight to its actions. The Meloni government does not care about the problems of citizens, which will be exacerbated by this revolution'. This is the view of the M5S members of the Chamber of Deputies' Constitutional Affairs and Justice Committees, Stefania Ascari, Carmela Auriemma, Vittoria Baldino, Federico Cafiero De Raho, Alfonso Colucci, Valentina D'Orso, Carla Giuliano and Pasqualino Penza.
