Milan, Sept 17 (LaPresse) – “The right to protest in our country is widely guaranteed, as shown by recent data, thanks to the professionalization of the police forces that are able to contain even aggressive incidents. However, we do have some concerns for the coming months due to what is happening in Gaza and the humanitarian tragedy there, which must be condemned but is also impacting domestic discussions. That said, nothing can justify attacks on the police or targeting a teacher of Jewish origin to carry out such actions,” said Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, guest on La7’s Coffee Break.

“I hope everything stays within acceptable limits. Protesting is right because something very serious is happening in Gaza, but going beyond a certain limit would undermine the message,” added the minister regarding yesterday’s unrest in Milan and the assault on the professor in Pisa.
