Rome, Sept. 12 (LaPresse) – Justice Minister Carlo Nordio, Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, and Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano — according to government sources — will submit written defense briefs to the Chamber’s Authorization Committee in the Almasri case, rather than accepting the invitation to be heard in person by that committee. The government officials under investigation — for whom the Prosecutor’s Tribunal has requested authorization to proceed — must file their briefs by next Monday, September 15, while the next session of the Authorization Committee is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17 at 8:15 AM.
