Rome, Sept. 10 (LaPresse) – The President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, had a phone conversation today with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders, according to a statement from Palazzo Chigi, expressed "satisfaction with the excellent state of bilateral relations, reaffirming their joint commitment to further deepen the Italy-India 2025-2029 Strategic Action Plan, starting with strengthening collaboration in trade, investments, and connectivity, including through the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC)." The statement adds that the phone call was also an opportunity "to exchange views on the latest developments in the war in Ukraine, regarding which both leaders shared a commitment to support every international effort to promote a ceasefire and the resumption of negotiations to achieve a just and lasting peace."
