Rome, Sept. 10 (LaPresse) – The center-right members of the Chamber’s Authorization Committee, according to reports, raised today the issue regarding the chief of staff of the Ministry of Justice, Giusi Bartolozzi, who was investigated yesterday in the Almasri case for false declarations. The parliamentary body is considering whether the Chamber should raise a dispute of jurisdiction against the Ministers’ Court before the Constitutional Court. "There is a theoretical possibility that, even with respect to Dr. Bartolozzi, a request for authorization as a lay defendant could have been submitted but was not," center-right sources explained after the meeting. Further investigation is needed because the crime charged to Bartolozzi is "connected," but not "in concert" with the one for which Ministers Nordio and Piantedosi and Undersecretary Mantovano are under investigation, and for this reason, the ‘shield’ of the authorization to proceed request did not apply. "We are faced with a person under investigation, it is news from the press and needs verification. We have asked the offices to delve into the matter to understand if there could be a theory that a request for authorization should have been sent, and consequently, a jurisdictional dispute," it is explained.
