Rome, Sept. 8 (LaPresse) – "Thank you for the opportunity to engage in dialogue; I am participating today as I have in technical discussions organized by majority parties, and I hope to do so again as a guest of parliamentary majority representatives. I want to reiterate here, as I did yesterday after reading the minister's comments, that we do not side with any party, but fight for ideas by contributing to the public debate on justice. We will never fail in our role of absolute independence from any political organization," said ANM president Cesare Parodi during the hearing with the Democratic Party group in the Chamber regarding justice reform. "This reform," he added, "clearly harms citizens and not magistrates, and our commitment lies in defending common values put at risk by constitutional changes. It is a reform that, by changing the CSM, weakens the independence of all magistrates through the progressive distancing of prosecutors from jurisdiction. For this reason, citizens will bear the consequences."
